Take #StopKavanaugh to the Ballot Box

This afternoon Senate Republicans voted to confirm the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh, a deeply partisan, right-wing extremist who is known to have committed acts of sexual assault and perjury under oath. This unconscionable maneuver to fast track Trump’s patently unfit judicial appointment typifies the reckless abandon with which Congressional Republicans are pursuing profoundly unpopular rollbacks of our civil rights.

In opposition to the 1954 Supreme Court decision that declared racial segregation to be unconstitutional, the conservative movement launched a strategic, decades-long campaign to transform the judiciary into a vehicle for regressive social policy. Powerful and highly-financed special interest groups leveraged influence at every level of government in an effort to enshrine their extremist political agenda into constitutional law. The confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh represents the culmination of this coordinated right-wing endeavor to advance the interests of the moneyed elite and curtail the fundamental rights of people of color and women by any means necessary.

With far-right conservative operatives on the cusp of realizing their long sought vision of a radicalized, anti-Black, anti-women and anti-worker judiciary, we will not surrender our fight to #StopKavanaugh. To all friends, allies and supporters of CRGE, join us at the ballot box as we mobilize voters to overturn the Republican majority in Congress, opening a path to investigate and impeach Judge Kavanaugh for perjury under oath, and preventing the future confirmation of right-wing extremist judicial nominees.
